Fill My Cup
by Grace Wynn Hanson
I came to the Lord with an empty cup,
Praying that he would fill it up.
I wanted His comfort, His joy and His peace;
I hoped that such blessing would never cease.
"Please fill it up, Lord; let it overflow!
An empty cup is no good, You know."
But He said: "It's not empty; just look inside:
There's ugliness there that you cannot hide.
I see covetousness and pride within.
In fact, there are several kinds of sin."
Then gently He tilted my tarnished chalice
And out flowed envy and greed and malice:
All the sins I had hoarded up
Drained slowly from my upturned cup.
In sorrow and shame I hung my head.
"Can You ever forgive me, Lord?" I said.
His answer came quickly, so loving and kind,
Setting at rest my troubled mind.
"Now we can fill it up with joy and peace,
Forgiveness and comfort, and sweet release
From the burden of guilt you so long have borne.
No need now for sorrow; no need to mourn."
In gratitude I bowed my head;
"I must always keep it this way, " I said.
"How can I keep all this joy in my cup now that
You've cleansed it and filled it up?"
As I quietly listened, I heard Him say:
"You can only keep it as you give it away!"
He is All
by Brian Nash
He is truth, he is kindness, he is love
He is the maker of the earth and sky above
He is knowledge, he is wisdom, he is one
He has sent us a redeemer in his son
He is prayer, and he is praise and he is lord
Sent us the Bible as his word
He is holy, he is spirit, he is son
A king, a lord, a savior all in one
He is all there is and more
He is now and was before
He is father, he is provider, he is all
Promises to be there if you should call
He is charity, forgiveness of our sin
He is all there ever was and is again.
I Think I Hear A Trumpet
by James J. Lake
There's a great anticipation
Of the coming celebration
When we all will meet
Our Savior in the air
We'll need no reservation
For the coming celebration
Jesus made a way for us
And paid the fare
We are moments from His coming
As He splits the sky in two
I can hear the angels humming
From a land where all is new
Soon we'll hear the shout & trumpet
As we head straight for the sky
And we'll join the angel chorus
As we bid this world goodbye
Nothing more on earth will matter
When with Jesus we shall stand
Now on higher ground forever
No more sin and sinking sand
We will marvel at His glory
As we step inside the gate
And are led to His great supper
Where He wants us to partake
Then with all the family present
Our dear Lord will rise and share
Welcome home, my precious children
To this land beyond compare
So enjoy the angel chorus
As they sing around the throne
And remember, that I've built a place
You now can call your own
In my mind I see the vision
And the trumpet I can hear
And I'm looking for His coming
For I know it's very near
or He said, in just a moment
In the twinkling of an eye
Caught up in clouds of glory
I will meet you in the sky
So now in grand rehearsal
In my heart and mind I feel
That the moment of His coming
Is about to be quite real
One More Bridge To Cross
by Peter Taekema
As snow white clouds drift across the sky,
You wonder where they come from
And where they are going.
Some days the sky is dark and overcast.
On others the sun shines brightly forth.
Is it not I who controls nature?
Do I not hold everything in the palm of My hand?
Do not be afraid about the year to come!
Or whether there is one more bridge to cross.
Was it not I who stilled the waters:
Who calmed the raging storm?
If it were my will, you could walk on water.
Just one word (from Me) and your prayer will be answered.
Trust and obey. I will uphold My glory.
You know I am a firm foundation.
I will uphold you: you will not be shaken.
Something bright and new is on the horizon.
Go over there and I will show you more.
Trust Me, I the Lord have spoken.

True Love Comes From Jesus
by Anthony Rastetter
In the world today love is just a word.
Seldom truly felt, but often heard.
Many think love is a physical act.
There is nothing physical about true love and that's a fact.
True love comes deep from within the heart.
Giving all of one's self and demanding back not one part.
There are precious few who are capable of true love.
For true love doesn't come from the world but from above.
Many of us strive to give true love.
Love that's unselfish, unconditional, pure as a snow white dove.
But love like that is near impossible to give.
Because pride and selfishness in all our hearts live.
We start pure, giving love and feeling needed.
But when love isn't returned to us, we feel cheated.
It isn't true love if we make demands or expect rewards.
Or, give only what we know can be restored.
The only source of true love pure love is Jesus.
We can give true love only when He gives it through us.
I tried to give true love, But it was something I couldn't do.
Because my own selfishness and pride kept coming through.
My own pride destroyed more than could be built,
All I managed to do was create more pain and guilt.
Now I don't know in which way to turn.
I guess step back look around and try to learn.
For if I can learn from the mistakes I made before.
I can start again and maybe some of the damage can be restored.
This time with the help of Jesus and not just me.
I can show the love the way He wanted it to be.
I can only apologize to those whose feelings I hurt,
And to those whom I made feel like dirt.
That was never my intention never my goal.
All I meant was good in my heart and in my soul.
I will continue to try to show love pure and true.
And look out for the feelings of all, not just the few.
I will give consideration to others as with my pride I wrestle.
May I always remember all He needs is a usable vessel.
