A Father's Love
by Jay Miller

I wish that I could sum it up.
I wish that there were words,
But there are not words
Enough, to describe - A Father's Love.

I wish that all could see.
I wish that all could know,
What I have come to know.
For no other thing compares,
As this does - A Father's Love.

I have swam to the depth's of my soul.
I have embraced each sin that man can know.
And I have brought disgrace
To every decent thing,
Until there seemed no hope for me.

But still there was one hope for me.
That hope of ages.
That hope of generations.
The hope of everlasting grace,
For all willing to embrace, The FATHER's Love.

If God Were Blue
by Jay Miller

O Lord, if you were some foreign shade of blue,
Still with all my being and all that I lay claim to, would I love and love and love-you.
Sending forth without right and with some terror
Through lips unfit to form your holy name, praise unceasing, praise unending, praise
To match the Longing of my longing soul, that will not be silenced, will not be
Soothed, until it truly knows You, my God, even if your shade be blue.

O Lord, if you were some unseemly shade of brown,
Unstopping would be the sound of my adoration of You, and all you are until all my
Todays and all my tomorrows were gone, and you saw fit to raise me to the wonderful
Embrace, for which my soul so longs.

O Lord, if you were some unappealing shade of gray,
I would not stumble back, like others may, but rush
Forward in crazed desire to worship at the feet of He I have no right to see, or touch,
Or speak to, so encompassing is my love for you.
Who is Lord of all, yet so loving that he himself Him humbled.
So those (like me) to retched to embrace might through his
Perfect love be saved.

O Lord, what color are you, none know, save those who have always known, and those whom you have summoned home.
(O, that soon you would summon me and those I love.)
Yet Lord of all, as you know though it matter's not at all to me, the color of the sovereign hand that
Raised me up so lovingly, it matters much to many.
And how much it must sadden you to know,
That with all that you have given men,
Colors matter still to them.

Eve
by Cathy Henrie

If I had been a mouse...
And hidden by a tree,...
On that awful day...
What would I see....

Would I see Eve...
Bowing in prayer,...
Wishing the Lord...
Would hurry and get there....

Waiting for the evening...
To see His face,...
Longing to feel...
His loving embrace....

God told Adam...
Not to eat from the tree,...
Down the road...
Eve came to be....

She was confused...
I wonder why,...
She thought if she touched it...
She would die....

Did the serpent touch the apple...
And then say "see",...
"I didn't die"...
"Look at me"....

Did she want like the Lord...
To please Him more?...
Did she marvel at His wisdom...
And worry that she might be a bore?...

Was Adam maybe jealous...
Of the Lord Above,...
Did he maybe want...
All of Eve's love?...

She was confused...
But Adam knew,...
Exactly what...
He was about to do....

Was she his guinea pig...
To see if she'd die,...
And if she lived...
He'd give it a try....

God blamed Adam...
He doesn't say why,...
But He says he's the reason...
That man must now die....

They lost their paradise...
So precious and dear,...
And no more words from Adam...
Do we hear....

But God makes a point...
Of showing us today,...
That Eve continued...
To send praise His way....

I'll Be Waiting
by Cathy Henrie

I made little bees
To make honey that's sweet,
So that my children
Could have a treat.

I bent the trees
A certain way,
Then sent a breeze
So they would sway.

I made the sand
And oceans too,
A beautiful rainbow
In a sky of blue.

The fragrance of a flower
I would carefully prepare,
And every detail of creation
I intended to share.

And I pictured you
And how you would be,
And I made you
Just for me.

I chose your moment to come
And your time to go,
I have nourished you
Made you blossom and grow.

And you did bear fruit
That we will share,
You have nurtured the blossoms
I put in your care.

And as you look back
Down memory lane,
I want you to know
Your greatest gain.

It's your memories of harder times
That you can look back on today,
And truly cherish
In a special way.

Memories of pleasure
Memories of strife,
Opportunity for Me
To work in your life.

And the love of your children
In a beautiful way,
As it blossoms more
With each passing day.

The love of your family
Of each and every friend,
That will be with you
Til the very end.

And when your new life
Will finally begin,
Those memories and that love
Will be deep within.

For no thorns or thistles
Have hindered the way,
My roots have grown deeper
With each passing day.

And I AM the potter
And you are the clay,
I have made you perfect,
In every way.

And what you have reaped
You will sow,
And you have helped many
Hearts to grow.

So please don't ever
Be afraid to die,
You'll never hurt
You'll never cry.

You'll see this world
With all it's strife,
But you'll want to go on
And live you're life.

For the angels will be singing
With one accord,
And you'll see Me
You're Savior and Lord.

And you'll be reaching
Out to Me,
And there'll be so much
Love that you'll see.

You will feel My presence
Gaze at My face,
Overflow with My love
And be filled with My grace.

I will hold you tight
We'll walk hand in hand,
And My loving kindness
Will flow through the land.

Heaven is wonderful
And you'll want to stay,
For you'll be by My side
Day after day.

So I'll be waiting
Until that day,
When you see My Glory
Coming your way.

So please don't ever
Be afraid to die,
For you will be
With God on high.

Some of the Best
by Cathy Henrie

Matthew was a tax collector
Hated by most,
Yet he was chose as a disciple
By the Lord of Host.

Zacchaeus cheated
Many in his day,
But Jesus dined with him
When He passed his way.

Women were on a level
Far below man,
Yet inside a woman
His life on earth began.

And Samaritans
Were despised by the Jews,
But to a woman Samaritan
Jesus gave the Good News.

Cheaters, adulteresses
Sinful and unclean,
These were the people
With whom Jesus was seen.

Saul persecuted Christians
Until that day,
Jesus blocked his path
Along the way.

He touched his heart
And Paul came to be,
A wonderful example
For you and for me.

David was a murderer
Yet look how he was blessed,
God loved him far more
Than most of the rest.

Moses also
Murdered too,
Check out Mary Magdalene
Me and you.

Look at the examples
Shown above,
No earthly sin
Can hinder His love.

For He takes earthly sin
And throws it aside,
He looks deep in the heart
To see what's inside.

He looks in that place
Where no man can go,
Where the depth of his love
Begins to flow.

So when we see someone
Who is a sinner by far,
Remember this list
And where they now are.

Remember the sins
Listed Above,
Remember He Alone
Measures their love.

And before we hate
And judge the rest,
Look at those God chose
As some of the best.
