A Blessing

Every night I lie in bed
This little prayer inside my head
God bless my mom and dad,
Keep my children in your care,
Take care of my dear husband,
There's so much that we share.
And God, there is just one more thing
I wish that you would do,
If you don't mind me asking,
Bless my 'puter too.
I know it isn't normal
To bless a small machine,
But listen just a second
And I'll try to explain...
You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds and ends.
Inside those small components
Rest a hundred loving friends.
Some its true I've never seen
And most I've never met
We've never shaken hands
Or truly hugged, and yet..
I know for sure they love me
By the kindness' that they give
And this small scrap of metal 's
How I get to where they live
By faith is how I know them
Much the same as I know you.
We share the things life gives us
So if its ok with you..
Just take an extra minute
From your duties up above..
To bless this little hunk of steel
That's filled with so much love. Amen.....
Count Your Blessings

Today, upon the bus I saw a lovely girl with golden hair,
I envied her, she seemed so gay, and I wished I were so fair,
When suddenly she rose to leave, and I saw her hobble down the aisle,
She had one leg, and wore a crutch, and as she passed, a smile.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine...
I have two legs. The world is mine.
And then I stopped to buy some sweets, The lad who sold them had such charm,
I talk to him: he seemed so glad... if I were late 'twould do no harm,
And as I left he said to me :"Thank you. You have been so kind.
It's nice to talk to folks like you. You see," he said, "I'm blind".
Oh God, forgive me when I whine...
I have two eyes. The world is mine.
Later, walking down the street, I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play; it seemed he knew not what to do.
I stopped a moment, then I said, "Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word, and then I knew he could not hear.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine...
I have two ears. The world is mine.
With legs to take me where I'd go,
With eyes to see the sunset glow,
Two ears to hear what I would know...
Oh God, forgive me when I whine...
I'm blessed indeed. The world is mine.
The Gift of Love

The precious gift of life is love
For with the help of God above
Love can change the human race
And make this world a better place.
For love dissolves all hate and fear
And makes our visions bright and clear
So we can see and rise above
Our pettiness on wings of love.
Have Courage

Along the grand highway of life,
You meet with a thousand temptations,
Each city with evil is rife.
The world is a stage of excitement.
There's danger wherever you go.
But, if you are tempted in weakness,
Have courage, my boy, to say no.
In courage alone lies your safety,
When you the long journey begin
Your trust in the Heavenly Father,
Will keep you unspotted from sin.
Temptations will go on increasing
As streams from a rivulet flow.
But if you'd be true to your manhood,
Have courage, my son, to say no.
Be careful in choosing companions.
Seek only the brave and the true.
Stand by your friends when in trial,
Not changing the old for the new.
And when by false friends you are tempted
The taste of the wine cup to know
With firmness, with patience, with kindness,
Have courage, my boy, to say no.
Today I Went to Heaven

My heart is so full of joy today,
that's because I'm in Heaven to stay,
Not just to visit or vacation you see,
but with Jesus for all eternity.
I know I fought hard to stay longer on earth
but that was before I knew Heavens real worth.
Oh my loved ones..if you only could see,
how happy it is up here for me,
you would never grieve or shed a tear,
but only wish that you were here.
The journey of death I somewhat did fear,
but Jesus helped me and was always near.
There is no more sorrow or pain to bear,
just happiness and joy to share.
Don't grieve or sorrow my loved ones dear,
I was not cheated of life as I feared.
Jesus has shown me eternal gain,
for all of the sadness, heartache, and pain.
Praise GOD for Jesus that died on the tree,
and made all this possible for you and for me.
It is not goodbye my loved ones dear,
but only farewell till you get here.
