Drinking From My Saucer
author unknown
I've never made a fortune,
and it's probably too late now.
But I don't worry about that much,
I'm happy anyhow.
And as I go along life's way,
I'm reaping better than I sowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
Haven't got a lot of riches,
and sometimes the going's tough.
But I've got loving ones around me,
and that makes me rich enough.
I thank God for his blessings,
and the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
O, Remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
and sun peeped through again.
, So Lord, help me not to gripe,
about the tough rows that I've hoed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
"Cause my cup has overflowed.
If God gives me strength and courage,
When the way grows steep and rough.
I'll not ask for other blessings,
I'm already blessed enough.
And may I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads.
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
"Cause my cup has overflowed.
Hear My Cry O Lord
by Sharon J. McBride
Beyond my clouds, is there a rainbow somewhere?
In the midst of my storm, Lord are you really there?
My trials are overtaking me, and Lord I'm really getting weak,
Lord is it because it's you I fail to continually seek?
I help others when they ask, but MY life is STILL rough
Lord are you sending me a message that what I'm doing is not enough?
Lord I try to do all I can for my family so they can have a "good" life
(Holy spirit begins to speak)
But are you doing ALL the duties of a mother and a wife?
Lord, no one is perfect. ALL these things I can't possibly do
My child it would be easier if your mind stayed on ME and not on you
You come to me continuously seeking forgiveness for the same sin
Then you turn to d the very same things over and over again
Yes, I do have mercy on you, and you ARE saved by grace
But you've got to be diligent in all things and continue to seek my face
You haven't gotten rid of all those old hurts and pride
You choose to hold on to them. From me, there's nothing you can hide
When you gave your life to me the old man passed away
But he is now returning because from word you choose to stray
Your children are now disobedient. You have one trial after the other
It's because you ignore my word and choose not forgive your "brother"
I've tried to whisper in your ear and get you on the right track
But you ignore me. So, I'll break you. Eventually to my word you'll come back
Strive to be holy, upright and righteous in all things
In the end you will see the great reward it brings.
A Humble Prayer
anonymous
It's hard for me picture Him sitting up there
looking at me, listening to what I have to say.
I can't imagine Him gliding above my head
or feel Him when He grabs me by the hand
and leads me to His throne.
But sometimes, in the quiet of my soul
I can hear Him whispering little words of encouragement.
And when that happens,
it helps me remember why I still keep my feet moving.
Latin Hymns
by Doug Tanoury
We share a hymnal at Sunday Mass
Shoulders rubbing, heads leaning
Together toward each other
Our eyes meet in "Panis Angelicus"
I touch her bare arm in "Jubilate Domino"
We smile through Latin hymns
And the slow dour notes of the organ
Lighten for a moment with the sound
Of her voice singing soft and fragile
God the almighty lives at
That instant in the sweetness
Of words sung in her whisper
And I am filled with prayers of thanksgiving
For that Eve and this Adam
In the Eden of touch
Pain is a Road
by Colleen Carroll
Sometimes it feels like you fall so hard,
That you'll never be able to stand,
Looking for that person to pick you up,
Someone to hold your hand,
Who am I? Who are you?
What difference does it make?
What will become of tomorrow?
And what's getting there going to take?
Sometimes we all need someone,
To give us strength when we feel small,
Sometimes we need a burning bush,
Sometimes we need a call,
We all travel down that dark road,
That leads to our inside,
But if someone could shine a light on that road,
We'd see we are walking side by side,
Pain is a road that everyone must travel on,
There is a time when we all must fall,
Knights of destiny fighting our battles,
We see the light, We hear God's call.
